Members introduce themselves
In the "Members introduce themselves section", companies and research institutes from the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West provide an insight into their activities: they talk about their current activities, look into the future and show how they are advancing cooperation in the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West. In October we put three questions to the Siemens AG.
Siemens is currently expanding its portfolio of AC and DC charging solutions to offer an even wider range of charging options for electric vehicles. In addition, the digital service offering is being expanded, including services for the installation, maintenance and operation of charging systems. Another focus is on the development of software solutions for depot charging, which are particularly relevant for fleet operators. Siemens also offers various financing options to facilitate access to electromobility solutions.
Siemens is heavily involved in the development of advanced charging and power technologies for electric vehicles. This includes megawatt charging, which enables ultra-fast charging and is particularly important for commercial vehicles. We are also working on bidirectional charging, which allows electric vehicles not only to absorb electricity but also to feed it back into the grid. Siemens is also researching technologies for autonomous charging, in which vehicles are charged without human assistance, and wireless charging, which makes the charging process even more convenient.
The Cluster Electric Mobility South-West supports Siemens in current and future projects by creating visibility and awareness of the technologies developed through placement on its websites and regular meetings. The cluster also promotes networking and provides opportunities for dialogue with other companies in the industry, facilitating collaboration on innovative projects. Potential partners and customers are approached through targeted publications. This improves market access.
