Voltage is a future-oriented project to strengthen vocational training in the battery sector and develop skilled workers for the European battery industry. Partners from Sweden, Finland, Germany, Portugal and Turkey are working together to strengthen vocational education and training to meet the needs of the industry. At the heart of the project is the establishment of so-called “Centers of Vocational Excellence” (CoVEs). These are regional networks in which universities, companies and educational institutions work closely together. The aim is to create practical training and further education opportunities that are precisely tailored to the needs of industry. These centers are intended to serve as a central point of contact when it comes to the need for skilled workers.
The battery industry is driving Europe's sustainable and digital transformation. It strengthens energy independence, promotes innovation and creates high-quality jobs. Industries such as the automotive, renewable energy, aviation and stationary energy storage sectors are particularly dependent on high-performance battery systems. Voltage is making an important contribution to integrating vocational training into the battery sector.
Voltage develops innovative training concepts and cooperation platforms to enable practical vocational training. These include a central learning platform, the use of 3D models for training purposes and online training for teachers. All content and materials are available in English.
Strategic public relations work and the exchange of experience between project participants and companies on proven teaching methods strengthen the visibility and impact of the project throughout Europe.
The battery industry is growing - but many young people are still barely aware of the diverse career prospects in this sector. Voltage is developing information formats and communication tools to get pupils interested in the industry at the transition from school to work.
Teachers and trainers need up-to-date technical knowledge to prepare students for the working world of tomorrow. Voltage offers targeted training and access to the latest industry information and innovative didactic approaches.
Voltage relies on close dialog between vocational training institutions and companies to ensure that training content meets the actual requirements of the world of work.
