The overall system of electric mobility requires a comprehensive approach regarding energetic issues. In the vehicle, the emphasis is first and foremost on optimal energy transfer and utilisation. Beyond that, smart grid integration of electric vehicles is of importance. The connection between a decentralised, renewable energy supply, charging infrastructure and vehicle presents a central challenge in this context. Within the scope of innovation field ‘Energy’, these subjects are processed amongst others in research and project studies on different charging techniques and the impact of digitisation on grid integration. The positive mix of industries within the cluster as well as cooperation with innovation fields ‘Vehicle’, ‘ICT’ and ‘Production’ together with an excellent university and research environment provide Baden-Württemberg with outstanding prerequisites for successfully shaping the sub-sector energy within the overall system of electric mobility.
